Sculpture Trail News!

The Winterton Sculpture trail is an exciting arts project coming to Winterton this summer. Winterton schools, community groups and organisations have been involved in designing and creating 26 tractor and owl sculptures that will form a trail around the town. The groups worked with local artists Fiona Caley, and Mandy Keating in a series of workshop to produce their sculptures.

The Winterton Sculpture Trail will run from Friday 15th May to Friday 14th September 2018.

During 2017, Winterton 2022 commissioned the production of a number of tractor and owl sculptures to form the basis of a sculpture trail for the town of Winterton.

Sculpture trails have taken place in many locations throughout the UK in recent years.  These have included The Lincoln Knights and Larkin with Toads in Hull. In 2018, this trend is likely to continue with trails planned involving Robin Hood, giant snails in Brighton, bees in Manchester, Hares in Norwich, and giraffes in Worcester.

Many communities who have previously hosted Sculpture Trails experienced many benefits including increased visitor numbers, boosts for local businesses and huge amounts of media coverage.

We want Winterton’s sculpture trail to be able to rival the best. We want to draw people into the town and allow businesses to benefit for increased footfall and we want residents of Winterton to feel proud of the artwork they have made or contributed to.

We have opportunities for businesses to become involved in the Sculpture Trail to promote their business and enjoy the benefits of this exciting and ambitious project taking place in our town this summer. Please contact us via social media if your business is interested in getting involved.

We will soon be announcing further details about the trail and activities and competitions taking place around the trail. Keep an eye on this page for further updates and be sure to the Winterton 2022 pages on Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date with the latest Sculpture Trail news.
